This is a nice way to kick off the new month. We are now the "Award-Winning DarynKagan.com!"
The honors come from The Interactive Media Council's Interactive Media Awards who have bestowed DarynKagan.com with Oustanding Achievement honors.
Who is the IMC? Glad you asked. They are a nonprofit organization of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals. The competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet.
It's nice to get honors so quickly. We've only been up 8 1/2 months, after all. I'd heard things move quickly in cyberspace. They weren't kidding.
I think backnews director at my first TV job in Santa Barbara. He never let anyone display their awards. "You hang up your accolades," he used to rule, "then you have to hang up all your failures on the wall, as well."
I don't know about that, "bah humbug" attitude. There certainly have been some lessons learned over the last several months. Rather than display those, let's just say they are embedded into the bytes of this website to bring you a better experience.
As for making, "Hooray!" about our first award, I simply take it as further confirmation that we've created something really special. A place where inspiring stories can be here for you 24/7. On that note, we get awards everyday with all the wonderful email so many of you send. This is just an extension of those.
BTW, when I say, "We," I don't mean the "Royal We." No, this website has my name on it, but there's no way I could produce it each day without my amazing team.
So, let me say, "Congratulations!" to Brian, Heather, Matt, Trey, Paul, Bruce, and the gang at Melia Design and Technologies. Guys, you just won this award, too!
